Defender's deal now set to run through to the summer of 2016
Bolton Wanderers are delighted to announce that David Wheater has signed a contract extension with the club.
The central-defender's deal will run through until the summer of 2016.
Wheater has been with Wanderers since January 2011 when he signed from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee. He has since gone onto make 45 competitive appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
"I'm very happy to have signed," Wheater said. "I believe we have a real chance to move forward this season and the manager is certainly the right man for us. I also believe he can help get the best out of me as a player.
"I'm also very happy living in the area and have made lots of new friends since moving here from Middlesbrough."
