American midfielder included in USA's 23-man squad for Gold Cup
Stuart Holden has been called up to the 23-man USA squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The competition will take place in America and will see 12 teams battle it out for the title of North America’s top nation.
Holden has recently featured in a number of warm-up games for Jurgen Klinsmann’s side and has made the cut from the preliminary squad.
The USA’s Gold Cup campaign gets underway on Tuesday 9 July when they face Belize in their opening group game in Portland. They then face Cuba and Costa Rica, with two teams guaranteed progress from the four-team group.
Altogether, Holden has made 19 appearances for the USA, scoring on two occasions.
