Striker gives his assessment of Saturday victory at St Andrew's
Jermaine Beckford revealed that he and his teammates are already raring to go following the team's first victory of the season against Birmingham City. The 29-year-old, who opened the scoring in the Midlands, explained that Saturday's performance and result has given the team a huge confidence boost ahead of a Reebok double header against Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town after the international break.
"Obviously going two goals up and then conceding, it was always going to put us under pressure and I thought we dealt with that really well," he said following the final whistle. "We were unlucky not to get a third goal, but that’s part and parcel of the game.
"We’ve got the three points that we’ve needed for a while now and unfortunately for us, the international break is here so we’re going to have to wait until after that to kick on, but we’re all excited and can’t wait for the next game."
