Adam Bogdan's hopes of qualifying for the World Cup take significant setback
Adam Bogdan and Hungary’s hopes of qualifying for next summer’s World Cup hang by a thread after they were comprehensively beaten by the Netherlands on Friday evening in Amsterdam.
The Netherlands, already assured of top spot in UEFA qualification group D, ran riot against Bogdan and co with the scoreline eventually ending up 8-1 in their favour. Robin van Persie was amongst the goals, claiming a 36-minute hat-trick.
With just one group game remaining, Hungary must now beat Andorra in Budapest on Tuesday and hope other results go their way if they are to pip either Turkey or Romania to the second-placed play-off spot.
On Saturday afternoon Chung-Yong Lee played 86 minutes and was booked for Korea Republic in their 2-0 friendly defeat against Brazil in Seoul.
