A look ahead to the youngsters' league clash with the Villans on Monday evening
Wanderers’ under-21 side will be hoping to get back to winning ways against their Aston Villa counterparts at the County Ground on Monday evening.
With Southampton having left Leyland with all three points last Monday, the club’s youngsters will no doubt be going all out to bounce back against the Villans
They will however come up against a Villa side who have won their last two games on their travels against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton respectively.
Those victories however make up half of their league successes so far this term, with Gordon Cowans’ side occupying 16th position in the league standings, a point behind Wanderers in 11th.
The West Midlands outfit will be hoping that midfielder Andras Stieber can continue his fine form of late, with the youngster having notched in Villa’s last two outings.
Wanderers however boast a goal threat of their own, with the team having fired four past their Leicester counterparts a fortnight ago.
Given the proximity of the league at present – just six points separate sixth placed Southampton with Newcastle in 20th – both sides will undoubtedly be eager to pick up three points and climb the table come the final whistle.
