Preview: Bolton v Charlton

All the key information ahead of Friday night's clash with the Addicks

Bolton Wanderers v Charlton Athletic
Macron Stadium
Friday 31 July, 2015
Kick-Off 8pm

SETTING THE SCENE
Facing Charlton Athletic in their first pre-season fixture at Macron Stadium, Bolton Wanderers bring the curtain down on their campaign preparations in their final outing before next weekend’s curtain-raiser against Derby County.

Unbeaten in their last three clashes after Tuesday night’s victory over Port Vale, Neil Lennon’s side will be keen to test themselves against fellow Sky Bet Championship opposition on Friday night.

The Addicks come into the tie having played six matches themselves so far, including a 0-0 draw against Premier League side West Ham United at The Valley last Saturday.

Having drawn 1-1 in the last clash between the two sides back in April, both clubs will be eager to build momentum heading into the new season in what is still sure to be a competitive meeting at BL6.

TEAM NEWS
Zach Clough, Emile Heskey, Darren Pratley and Oscar Threlkeld will all be assessed as the quartet continue to battle with the respective injuries that have disrupted their pre-seasons so far, while Tom Walker is expected to again miss out.

Max Clayton continues to step up his rehabilitation from a knee injured sustained last season, while David Wheater continues to work with the medical staff on the hamstring problem that prevented him from flying out to Austria and has kept him out of action during pre-season.

LAST CHARLTON XI (v Southend United, L2-1)
Pope (Mitov 46), Barnes (Lapslie 68), Bikey-Amougou, Lennon, Holmes-Dennis, Kennedy, Kashi (Charles-Cook 46), Jackson (Nego 68), Harriott (Ghoochannejhad 77), Ahearne-Grant (Muldoon 46), Pigott.

ONE TO WATCH
Certainly a player who is hard to miss standing at 6ft 7 in, striker Simon Makienok joined Charlton Athletic on loan from Italian Serie A side Palermo at the start of the month.

The 24-year-old’s prolific form in his homeland for first HB Køge and then Brøndby IF earned him a move to Italy last summer, however he found his first team opportunities limited during his time with the club.

A full Denmark international, Makienok will be hoping to rediscover his shooting boots with the Addicks as he looks to win back his place in the national side ahead of Euro 2016.
