On-loan midfielder in national squad for Euro 2016 qualifier against Italy
Simeon Slavchev has been named in the Bulgaria national team for their upcoming UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier against Italy.
The on-loan Sporting Lisbon midfielder could potentially earn his fourth cap in the game in Sofia on Saturday 28 March.
Bulgaria can still qualify for next summer’s tournament, but after four qualifying games of Group H sit fourth behind Croatia, Italy and Norway. Malta and Azerbaijan make up the teams in Group H.
The top two teams qualify automatically, whilst third spot will ensure a play-off place.
Slavchev will depart for international duty following Bolton’s weekend game against Wigan.
