A review of the first month of the 2014/15 campaign, with a total of seven pre-season games in July
SUMMARY
Preparations for the 2014/15 season began in earnest on the opening day of July, with a raft of players officially joining the club on permanent deals.
Dorian Dervite and Dean Moxey joined as free agents from Charlton and Crystal Palace respectively, whilst Liam Trotter, Liam Feeney and Neil Danns also joined on permanent deals having previously played for the club on loan.
The first team squad and staff jetted out for a ten-day training camp based in Malmo, Sweden, with games against Brondby, Vestjaelland and Mjallby yielding a mixed bag of results.
Kevin McNaughton was added to the squad midway through the tour, before Bolton returned to home shores Wanderers for a series of friendly games against Macclesfield, Rochdale, Tranmere and Port Vale for which they remained unbeaten.
