What to look out for ahead of the visit of the Lilywhites to Macron Stadium
Wanderers host Preston North End in their final pre-season outing on Saturday with just one week to go until the start of the new 2016/17 Sky Bet League One season. Here are five key points to look out for at Macron Stadium this weekend...
1. Trialists
Phil Parkinson has used Wanderers' recent friendlies to take a closer look at the likes of Danny Collins, Neal Eardley, Frazer Richardson and David Wheater.
While injury may have prevented Richardson from staking his claim for a contract with the Whites, the other three will be eager to impress in the Bolton's final pre-season fixture before next month's league opener against Sheffield United.
2. Home kit on open sale
Following its reveal earlier this month, Bolton Wanderers' new Macron-manufactured 2016/17 home kit goes on open sale on Saturday, with fans able to get their hands on the the club's new shirt from 9am at Bolton Central.
With local-rivals Preston the opposition, what a perfect opportunity for Trotters fans to don Wanderers' new colours for the the first time!
3. Family Fun Day
It's also the club's annual Family Fun Day in the build-up to the Preston game! With lots going on around the ground, Phil Parkinson's first team squad will be in attendance for an autograph session while the Tower FM Roadshow will also be present! More information HERE.
4. Sky Bet Championship opposition
Like on Tuesday night against Burnley, Saturday's game against North End marks another step up in opposition for Bolton following previous friendlies against lower league opposition. The Lilywhites are unbeaten so far throughout pre-season and have strengthened well so far this season.
That being said, there was not much between the two sides the last time the Whites hosted Simon Grayson's back in March as a late Eoin Doyle strike saw Preston come from behind to win 2-1 on the day.
With it also being another game against local-rivals, fans are in for a competitive clash as the curtain comes down on both side's pre-season preparations.
5. One week to go...
Strap yourselves in Wanderers fans, with just seven days to go until the big kick-off, the 2016/17 season is nearly upon us!
