International watch: Rob Holding handed England Under-21s debut

Defender completes 80 minutes in emphatic victory over Guinea

Rob Holding was handed his England Under-21s debut on Monday night as the young Lions clinched an emphatic 7-1 victory over Guinea at the Toulon Tournament.

An unused substitute in Gareth Southgate's side's opening victory over Portugal, the defender completed the full 80 minutes as England moved top of Group B.

Despite falling behind inside the opening 60 seconds, the young Lions fought back to win thanks to braces in either half from Jack Grealish and Cauley Woodrow, a James Ward-Prowse penalty as well as further strikes from Nathan Redmond and a Mohamed Toure own goal.

England are next in action against second-placed Paraguay on Wednesday, knowing a victory would guarantee them a place in at least the third-place play-off.
