bwfc.co.uk previews Wanderers' latest Checkatrade Trophy outing against the Seasiders
1. Squad rotation
Although competition rules state five of Wanderers' starting XI from Saturday's clash with Oxford United need to start against Blackpool, manager Phil Parkinson has already said that he plans to use Tuesday night's Checkatrade Trophy clash as an opportunity to rotate his side.
And with the Whites looking to recover from successive defeats as they look to put an end to their recent winless run, he will no doubt be keen to take another look at certain members of his squad as they look to gain some valuable minutes on the pitch.
2. Another chance for Jack Earing and Alex Perry?
The duo were both handed their Bolton senior debuts when the Trotters took on Everton in the competition earlier in the season and, having continued to impress for the Under-23s this campaign, the gaffer has hinted that they could get another chance against the Seasiders on Tuesday.
With Wanderers' academy producing a number of players who have stepped up into the first team in recent years, Whites fans will once again watch on with interest at the latest two to have made the step up.
3. Can Bolton return to winning ways?
Without a win from their last outings, Bolton come into Tuesday night's game off the back of back-to-back defeats to Rochdale and Oxford United.
Eager to get back on the pitch and respond quickly, as well as exact some revenge for their EFL Cup defeat to Blackpool, could the Trotters' latest Checkatrade Trophy outing provide the perfect remedy as they look to put the last month behind them?
4. £5 tickets!
All tickets for Tuesday night's game cost just £5! Having recently recorded their highest attendance of the season against Bradford City, why not come down to Macron Stadium and cheer on the lads?
5. Penalties
There will be a winner at Macron Stadium on Tuesday! Although a group-stage has now been introduced to the Checkatrade Trophy, penalties will be required if we are unable to separate the two sides after 90 minutes.
With the victor in the shootout gaining an additional point, the scene is set for a dramatic encounter at BL6 as Bolton's cup campaign resumes.
