Youngsters held to a draw by the Barnsley counterparts in their latest outing
Wanderers’ youngsters bounced back from their first defeat of the campaign last weekend by picking up a point against their Barnsley counterparts at Lostock on Saturday.
Nicky Spooner’s side started the game brightly, with some quick attacking football evident from the off.
Seeing a Harry Brockbank effort disallowed soon after, the Whites did not let it deter them in their efforts and continued to pressurise the Tykes’ defence as the half wore on.
Despite their best endeavours however, the club’s youngsters went in at the break with the scores goalless.
Once proceedings were back underway however, they continued in a similar vein to that of the first half and were eventually rewarded in the 70th minute of the game as Dennis Politic ran onto a through-ball from Jack Everest and struck a sweet shot beyond Barnsley’s goalkeeper.
Unfortunately for Wanderers however, they weren’t able to build on their opener and were forced to settle for a share of the spoils as the visitors drew level inside the closing stages of the encounter.
