Ken Anderson addresses the supporters following the club's promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship
I think it is safe to say that April 30, 2017 is a date which will remain forever etched into the memories of all associated with Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
The day itself could not have gone better – a comfortable victory to cap off an incredible season from the team, a celebration to remember in the aftermath of the match and of course, seeing the beaming smiles on the faces of all associated with the club.
It was a day which this time last year, nobody could have envisaged. In football, you will always dream big but those only come to fruition with a lot of hard work.
This season however, we have had just that and more from Phil Parkinson, the players, the staff and the supporters.
All season long, we have remained unified in our aim of achieving promotion and to do so at the first attempt is something that we should all be very, very proud of.
Coupled with the adversities we have faced this year, the job which has been performed at this football club is one which will go down in the history books.
Next season will be a new challenge for us, but for now, let’s savour this moment and celebrate what has been a campaign to remember for Bolton Wanderers.
We will be looking to stabilise the club now both on and off the pitch so that we can build on what we have achieved this year.
After the game meanwhile on Sunday, it was superb to see so many of the club’s supporters in attendance at our End of Season Awards Dinner with over 500 people packed into Macron Stadium’s Premier Suite.
It was certainly a night to remember for all there and reiterated what a fantastic support network we have here at the football club, both on the terraces and in corporate hospitality and sponsorship.
We had seen our hospitality areas more or less sold out for the match itself, while almost 23,000 of you turned out for the match in the stands.
On behalf of the manager, players and staff, I would like to thank you once again for your unwavering support this season – it truly has been integral in helping us achieve what we have.
We will be announcing details of our season tickets for 2017/18 this week and I hope that many of you will join us as we play Sky Bet Championship football once again.
I hope to see as many of you as possible meanwhile at the Civic Reception which will be held in Bolton town centre on Tuesday evening.
Sunday was a fantastic occasion not only for the football club, but also for this great town of Bolton and I am delighted that we are able to come to the heart of the town to celebrate our promotion back to Sky Bet Championship with the people who have supported us this season.
I would also like to thank Bolton Council for their support with this and I hope everybody has a great evening.
Following on from our success meanwhile, we will be releasing a special book to commemorate the team’s achievement by documenting the season as a whole.
Fans who pre-order before May 11 will also have the opportunity to have their names on a special Roll of Honour which will be included in the book itself. To purchase, please CLICK HERE.
This year will also be a special one for the club as a whole too as we celebrate 20 years at our current stadium.
To commemorate this, we will be holding a competition for fans to help us design a unique logo to mark the occasion, details of which will be announced in due course.
Once again however, I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and the celebrations that ensued following the final whistle – you all very much deserved it.
Kind regards,
Ken
