Bolton Wanderers' Under-18s drew 0-0 at home against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday in their latest league game.
Hopes were high after Nicky Spooner's side's 5-4 win against Huddersfield Town the week before, and Wednesday defended deeply from the start which allowed the Whites plenty of possession.
Wanderers managed to move the ball well, but struggled to break down their opponents' defence.
Bolton's first chance came after the first 15 minutes however after the ball broke to Luca Navarro who unfortunately rushed his shot and hit it wide.
Matty Barnes then looked to get in behind, but a lack of quality and composure in the final third meant that the game was still 0-0 come the break.
The second half started the same as the first, with Wednesday allowing the home side possession, but looking to break on the counter attack.
Matthew Fearnley had an opportunity to open the scoring, but his effort was easily saved by the Sheffield Wednesday keeper.
James Aspinall meanwhile kept the game at 0-0 by saving bravely at the near post, with the remainder of the match passing without much goalmouth action of note as the spoils were shared.
