U18s: Bolton Wanderers 3-3 Crewe Alexandra

Nicky Spooner’s youngsters drew 3-3 with their Crewe Alexandra counterparts on Saturday.

The Whites started the game with a strong wind behind them and didn't use the conditions to their advantage, leading to them conceding a goal direct from a corner.

Despite going a goal down however, they reacted positively and started to cause Crewe problems before being rewarded on 25 minutes as Luca Navarro cut in from the left and beat the keeper from outside the box.

Navarro then struck again, this time cutting in from the right and again beating the keeper from distance.

In the second half, Wanderers looked to defend their lead against a strong wind and hit Crewe on the counter attack.

They broke from inside their own half, with Navarro finding Fearnley who passed back for the former who was unlucky to see his effort saved.

Crewe were awarded a dubious free-kick however when it looked that Shakeel Jones-Griffiths had been fouled and proceeded to equalise from it.

The situation got worse meanwhile when Ted Moulden was shown a harsh straight red card when it looked as though both players had collided with each other.

Again though, when the team is up against it, they rally and soon were back in front with Luca Connell shooting from distance.

The Trotters then looked to manage the game, but unfortunately another decision went against them in injury time with the Railwaymen equalising from another free kick to ensure that each side took a point away from the game come full time.
