Wanderers' Under-18s ran out 2-0 winners against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday afternoon to maintain their lead at the top of the Professional Development League table.
Nicky Spooner’s side began proceedings on the front foot, controlling the tempo of the game and posing a threat on the break through Eddie Brown and Cameron Moore.
The young Whites drew first blood inside 20 minutes when Ronan Darcy’s corner was spilled by the Forest goalkeeper and Lewis Fensome was on hand to gobble up the rebound.
The hosts made a bright start to the second half too with substitute Dennis Politic causing problems with his speed by running at the Forest backline.
With Wanderers pushing for a more comfortable lead, Brown latched onto Luca Connell’s assist and cleverly rounded the goalkeeper to extend Wanderers’ advantage.
Politic saw his free-kick hit the crossbar shortly after, while Luca Navarro was also close to getting on the scoresheet.
Bolton were rarely troubled in the latter stages of the match as they defended impressively as a unit and looked dangerous when going forward.
The team are next in action on Wednesday 18 April, as they travel to Crewe Alexandra in their penultimate game of the season, looking to strengthen their grip at the top of the table.
