Nicky Spooner's side fell just short against Charlton Athletic U18s, as they lost 2-1 away from hom in the U18 Professional Development League.
Wanderers started the game well in the early going, dominating early and having most of the possession.
Chances were coming thick and fast from distance for the Whites, but without testing their goalkeeper.
20 minutes in and Charlton took a shock lead, as they caught Nicky Spooner's side on the break.
Charlton then furthered their lead 10 minutes later, after a mistake in Bolton defence saw the Addicks double the deficit.

10 minutes from the end and Wanderers' pressure was rewarded, with Barnes hitting the post and Brown scoring from the rebound.
As time neared to a close, the Whites pushed for an equaliser, as Barnes went close with a shot in injury time but to no avail.
