Preview: Five talking points ahead of Bolton Wanderers v Ipswich Town

Another weekend brings another game for Bolton Wanderers as they take on Ipswich Town at Macron Stadium. And with that in mind, bwfc.co.uk highlights five points to consider ahead of our clash against the Tractor Boys.

1. Back to Macron Stadium

After a trip to Brentford last weekend, the Whites return to Macron Stadium to take on Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship this Saturday.

BL6 has certainly been a tough place to come for teams in the Championship as of late, as the Trotters have won their last two home games.

Coming off the back of an unfortunate defeat against Brentford last week meanwhile, can Wanderers make it three on the spin at home with a victory over Ipswich?

2. Last time out against Ipswich at BL6

When the Tractor Boys came to Macron Stadium last, it was March 2016 in the Sky Bet Championship and some injury time heroics earned Wanderers a point that night, with the game finishing 2-2.

Former Whites striker Stephen Dobbie scored a 97th minute equalising penalty to secure the point against the Tractor Boys, but hopefully Wanderers can go one better this time around and secure the three points this weekend.

3. Madine in hot form

In-form Whites striker Gary Madine will be looking to add to his tally this weekend. He has had a hand in 11 goals in his last 13 Championship games, scoring seven and assisting four.

In his last outing at Macron Stadium however, Madine scored a magnificent free-kick against Hull City, looping it over the wall and into the top right corner with ease.

And manager Phil Parkinson and the boys will be hoping that he fires home again when 3pm hits, in turn hopefully aiding Wanderers to victory.

4. Club shop signing session

Before the game tomorrow, club captain Darren Pratley will be in attendance for a signing session from 2pm in Bolton Central.

He will be in the Whites’ retail outlet to meet supporters and sign autographs and memorabilia - a perfect pre-match treat for fans to take pictures with the skipper.

The session will finish with plenty of time to get into the ground for the game, so come down and have your shirts signed by the midfielder!

5. Injury news

It is very much the same as last week in terms of selection for Wanderers, with captain Darren Pratley still out after picking up a knock against Hull City on New Year’s Day.

Midfielders Will Buckley and Filipe Morais had niggles at the beginning of the week but have overcome them and should be available for selection.

Tenacious midfielder Karl Henry however is questionable for this weekend.

When speaking to bwfc.co.uk, manager Phil Parkinson said: “Karl has made good progress this week. He had a bit of a setback last week but whether he makes the game this weekend, we’ll have to wait and see.”
