Wanderers’ Under-18s registered a 2-1 victory away at Birmingham City on Wednesday afternoon to keep their lead at the top of the U18 Professional Development League table.
That’s now five wins in a row for Nicky Spooner’s side – a run which has seen them score 18 and let in just four.
The home side were dominant in the early exchanges but for all their possession, James Aspinall had little to do in the Wanderers goal.
Bolton began to get a foothold in the game with Dennis Politic and Luca Navarro both going close.
But Birmingham took the lead just before the referee blew for half-time.
The young Whites responded well, though, and grew in momentum as the second half progressed.
Matty Barnes connected with Navarro’s corner to equalise as Bolton applied more pressure, searching for the winning goal.
And in the 80th minute, the lively Politic was brought down on the edge of the 18-yard box and he took the resulting free-kick, striking low into the bottom corner, with Wanderers' comeback complete.
Their next match is away at Colchester United on Tuesday afternoon, as the young Whites hope to continue their fine form.
