Bolton Wanderers U18s lost 4-1 to Leeds United U18s on Saturday morning, with Matty Barnes scoring a consolation goal for the White
The game started at a good pace with both teams looking for an early goal, but lacking a clinical edge in the opening salvo.
Matty Barnes had two good opportunities to open the scoring in the early stages of the match, but he dragged both efforts wide of the target.
Following on from that, a frantic ten minutes before half time let Leeds in, as they scored two quick goals.
The first came from a long clearance up field, taking the Trotters defence by surprise and allowed for a simple tap in.
With one came the second shortly after, as a set-piece and lapse marking allowed for Mark Jackson's side to double their lead.
Moving into the second half and Leeds were still in the driving seat.
Before long, Nicky Spooner's side found themselves four behind, as two quick goals after the restart seemingly sealed Wanderers fate.
Before the final whistle blew, Barnes scored a consolation goal for his side, but it was not enough.
