Bolton Wanderers take on local rivals Blackburn Rovers on Monday afternoon at Ewood Park in the Sky Bet Championship.
Per Frandsen
The Danish midfielder was brought to England from his native Denmark, when Wanderers acquired his services from FC Copenhagen in 1996 for a fee of £1.25 Million. Going onto make 157 appearances (25 goals) for the club during the first of two spells, he moved to Blackburn Rovers in September 1999.
After spending just a single season (1999/00) at Ewood Park, he returned to Bolton for a second spell, and made a further 150 appearances (14 goals) during a four year stay, before joining Wigan Athletic in June 2004.
Nathan Blake
After beginning his career with home-City club Cardiff in 1990, he caught the eye in front of goal for Sheffield United, and in 1995 he moved to Bolton Wanderers. During just under three years with The Whites, he made 124 appearances (48 goals) before a £4.25 Million switch to Blackburn Rovers in October 1998.
Blake never quite found the same kind of form at Ewood Park, and in three years with the club he made 66 appearances (16 goals) before signing for Wolves in September 2001.
El-Hadji Diouf
Brought to England by Liverpool after an eye-catching 2002 FIFA World Cup with Senegal, he moved to Wanderers in June 2005 after a successful loan spell at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Spending three years with the club, Diouf made 104 appearances (15 goals) after signing permanently. Following a stint with Sunderland, he signed for Blackburn Rovers in January 2009 for £2 Million and during two and-a-half years with the club, he made 62 appearances (4 goals).
Jay Spearing
Currently with Blackpool in Sky Bet League One, Spearing's last involvement for Wanderers after a five year association with the club, was the captain the team to promotion to the Sky Bet Championship in 2016/17.
Initially on loan at the University of Bolton Stadium from Liverpool, he signed permanently in August 2013 and went onto make 134 appearances (8 goals) from there onwards. During his time with The Whites, he had a loan stint with Blackburn Rovers during the second half of the 2014/15 season.
Colin Hendry
An influential figure during his time with Blackburn Rovers, he had two spells at Ewood Park and helped the club to the Premier League title in 1994/95. Making close to 250 league appearances during an association lasting nine years, his brief time with Wanderers came after he'd featured for Rangers and Coventry City.
Arriving at the University of Bolton Stadium in 2001, the Scotland international helped the club to promotion to the Premier League in his first season.
Jason Lowe
Current Wanderers midfielder Jason Lowe is just in his first season with the club, but he spent many years with Saturday's opponents, Blackburn Rovers.
Making his Rovers debut in January 201, starting in a 1-0 home victory against QPR in the FA Cup, Lowe went onto make 196 appearances (1 goal), before signing for Birmingham City in August 2017.
Adam Armstrong
Armstrong could well line-up against Wanderers on Saturday afternoon - he signed permanently at Ewood Park from Newcastle United, after spending the second half of last season on loan with the club, helping them to promotion from Sky Bet League One.
The first half of last season was spent on loan here at the University of Bolton Stadium, and the England youth international made 23 appearances (3 goals), before joining Tony Mowbray's Rovers.
Jason McAteer
McAteer began his professional career with Wanderers in 1992, and went onto make 145 appearances (15 goals), before a £4.5 Million move to Liverpool in September 1995.
After three and-a-half years at Anfield, he signed for Blackburn Rovers in January 1999 for a fee of £4 Million. During just over two and-a-half years at Ewood Park, he made 83 appearances (4 goals).
Kevin Davies
Blackburn paid £7.5 Million to sign Kevin Davies from Southampton in June 1998, but after making just 30 appearances (2 goals) in just over a year at Ewood Park, he returned to Southampton in August 1999.
In July 2003, he signed for Wanderers and the rest is history. Going onto spend ten years at the University of Bolton Stadium, he made 407 appearances (84 goals) before finishing his career with a spell at Preston North End.
Scott Sellars
A player who had a significant impact with both clubs, Sellars made over 200 league appearances for Rovers during a six-year stay (1986-1992) following a move from Leeds United.
After a return to Leeds and a subsequent spell at Newcastle United, Sellars signed for Bolton Wanderers in 1995. During three and-a-half years with the club, he made 138 appearances (20 goals), helping the club to promotion to the Premier League in 1997.
Paul Warhurst
Warhurst donned the kit of plenty of clubs throughout the leagues, and he signed for Wanderers in January 1999 on a permanent basis after a successful loan stint from Crystal Palace.
Prior to signing for Palace, he'd spent four years with Blackburn Rovers and was part of the Premier League winning squad of 1994/95. During his time at Ewood Park, he made a total of 74 appearances (4 goals).
Warhurst made 104 appearances for Wanderers, and he departed to join Chesterfield in October 2003.
