Wanderers defender Adam Chicksen paid a visit to the Year 3 pupils at All Saints C of E Primary school in Farnworth on Monday afternoon.
The visit was part of the Community Trust’s PL Primary Stars project in conjunction with Grow Your Mindset and the #FarnworthMatters project, which aims to raise the aspirations of school children from the Farnworth area of the town.
A classroom lesson was delivered by Community Trust Development Officer Steve Obertelli, in which pupils explored and discussed the number of different job roles within the football club. The children were then given different job roles and were asked to think about what that job was, the daily tasks carried out and what the need was for it within a Football Club.
Chicksen worked with pupils on this task before speaking to the class about his career within football, including when he started playing and his journey to get to where he is now. He finished by talking around his core values, which are relevant to the children during their time at school and include commitment, hard work, team work and always giving 100%.
