Wanderers U23s fell to a 2-0 defeat the University of Bolton Stadium on Monday evening, with senior squad members Luke Murphy and James Weir getting a run out for David Lee’s men.
The home side started the game on top, with Weir and trialist Faal combining in the Tigers’ penalty area, before the latter had a shot deflected away for a corner.
The eventual set play found defender Adam Senior unmarked at the far post, but he put his header wide of the target.
Hull responded through James Berry, as his long range effort never troubled Matty Alexander.
The Whites were in the ascendancy in the first period of play but struggling to find that first goal, with Faal yet again stinging the gloves of Will Mannion.
The striker had Mannion beat prior the half hour mark, but after latching onto a cross-field ball and drilling a shot at goal, he found the outside of the post as his effort cannoned off the woodwork.
After the break, Hull began to take over as Berry went through one-on-one with Alexander, with the Wanderers goalkeeper standing tall and forcing the eventual shot wide.
But minutes later, Hamilton cut in from the right flank and curled his effort into the far corner to open the scoring.
Ten minutes on, the Tigers had their second as Hanson fired past Alexander at the second chance.
Substitute Eddie Brown nearly made an instant impact to ignite the comeback for the Whites, as he turned his marker and struck a powerful effort at goal that Mannion dealt with.
However it wasn’t to be, as the visiting side took all three points back to Yorkshire.
