Head Coach Ian Evatt has praised Bolton Wanderers Development Association (BWDA) for contributing to the cost of the club’s training camp at Loughborough University over this past week.
The first team squad have spent the last seven days in the East Midlands as part of their preparations for the forthcoming Sky Bet League Two campaign.
The University, which is ranked fifth in the UK, has a long sporting heritage and renowned world-class facilities which Wanderers have benefitted from during their stay.
The opportunity was made possible by the Bolton Wanderers Development Association, who over the past 40 years have raised millions of pounds to help with important projects that directly contribute to the development of the football club – and to keep it at the forefront of innovation.
In recent years, funds raised by supporters of Lifeline, Goldline, Golden Gamble and Instant Win Scratch Tickets have been used to purchase vital equipment for the club’s sports science department, to renovate the players’ gym at the training ground and to provide the training dome at Lostock, as well as many other worthwhile projects that have improved facilities for the club and supporters alike.
Evatt said: “It has been very important for us to get away as a group at this stage of the pre-season.
“The lads have worked really hard and benefitted from the tremendous facilities at Loughborough.
“This training camp was made possible thanks to all those who support the club by participating in the Lifeline and Goldine lotteries as well as those supporters who buy Golden Gamble tickets on matchdays at the University of Bolton Stadium and Instant Win scratch tickets from retail outlets throughout Bolton.
“These lotteries play a massive role in allowing us to invest in very important projects.
“I would like to thank every member, agent and supporter who takes part in these lotteries.
“We are one club, one community and one town and your continuing support will help us to rebuild Bolton Wanderers.”
Bolton Wanderers Chairman, Sharon Brittan, added: “We must never underestimate the support the Bolton Wanderers Development Association provides for our football club.
“Over the years, they have contributed to so many important projects that have not only benefitted the first team, but have also improved facilities for our supporters too.
“I am so grateful to all the Lifeline and Goldline members and agents and I would urge those who aren’t already members to consider signing up so that together we can all contribute to the success and renaissance of Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
“The training week at Loughborough has been successful and I would like to thank everybody there, especially Jo, Ben and Courtney who were incredible. The facilities are first class and it is easy to see why Loughborough University is an exemplar of sporting excellence.”
