Winger Dennis Politic spoke to us for the first time since signing his new contract extension, keeping him at Bolton until the 2021/22 season.
This comes after making 24 appearances for The Wanderers this season, scoring twice.
He said: “I’m very grateful to the coach for giving me this opportunity, trusting me and giving me the chance to sign this new deal.”
The 19 year-old is one of a number of teenagers to feature for The Trotters this season and Politic believes the club is ideal for his development.
“With the situation that the club is in, it’s great for young players to get into the first team, so I’m just going to work as hard as I can to get as many minutes as I can in the first team.”
The winger spent last season on loan at Salford City and he says he found the experience valuable.
He said: “I think I’ve developed a lot (in the past 12 months) because playing first team is a lot different, you have to be have to be a lot more physical.
“When you train with better players, you become better yourself.”
Romanian born Politic has enjoyed the season on a personal note and spoke of his joy at playing at the University of Bolton Stadium.
“I’ve enjoyed getting game time and scoring goals is always a good feeling and playing in front of big crowds, especially home ones. The supporters have been very supportive of me which I appreciate. Hopefully I carry on playing as well as I can and get as many goals as I can.”
Politic will hope to feature in his first game since signing his contract extension against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
