George Thomason has joined Bolton Wanderers on an 18-month contract from non-league Longridge Town.
The midfielder, 18, has scored two goals for Longridge Town this season and joins Keith Hill’s squad on a contract until the end of the 2020/2021 season.
On joining the club, Thomason said: “It’s a childhood dream.
“Becoming a professional footballer at a huge club like this is unbelievable and I’m buzzing to just kick on and get going and play for this great club.”
Asked to describe what type of player he is, Thomason explained: “I’m a box-to-box midfielder.
“I like to get forward and I like to play forward into my number 10s, into my strikers, and on the other side getting back and getting back in for the team.”
Thomas also spoke about how manager Keith Hill and assistant David Flitcroft have welcomed him into the club.
“They’ve (Keith and Dave) taken really well to me.” He said.
“I’m trying to take everything on board that they’ve asked of me.
“I want to represent this great club, this huge club, and I want to get on that pitch and play for the fans.”
