✍️🏻 Ali Crawford signs Two-Year Deal with Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers is delighted to confirm that midfielder Ali Crawford has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract which will see him remain at the University of Bolton Stadium until at least the end of the 2021/22 season.

The Scot, who signed for the club from Doncaster Rovers in September 2019, made 16 appearances for Wanderers, scoring twice during the 2019/20 season before it was curtailed in March.

Despite suffering an injury which kept him on the sidelines for the best part of four months, Crawford caught the eye during his time on the field, standing out with some fantastic displays.

A stunning free-kick at Rochdale earned him the Club’s Goal of the Season accolade.

After agreeing to remain with Wanderers, the 28-year-old said: “I’m delighted to have got the deal over the line. It’s good to have got it done nice and early, and for me to look forward to the season coming.

“Bolton Wanderers is a massive club and it shouldn’t be where it is. The challenge of trying to help the Club get back up the leagues is one that excites me.

“Like the new Head Coach said, the aim is to try and get promoted from League Two as soon as possible and I’m looking forward to trying to help the Club achieve that this season.”

Appointed as the Club’s new Head Coach earlier in the week, Ian Evatt was pleased to be able to retain the services of Crawford.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted we have secured Ali on a new two-year contract.

“He is exactly the type of player we want at the football club.

“Being a possession-based team, his quality on the ball will give us that cutting edge we need and I can’t wait to work with him.”
