Today marks 31 years since Wanderers went head to head with Torquay United at Wembley to lift the Sherpa Van Trophy and because of this we’re giving you the opportunity to watch 3 hours’ worth of footage from that very day.
Some of you will have attended that match and may want to relive all the action once again, whereas some of you might not have been born in 1989 and maybe haven’t seen footage from the game before.
Managed by Phil Neal, Wanderers headed into the game having recently finished their Third Division league campaign with a 10th place finish. Torquay United had finished 14th in the Fourth Division, so Neal’s men rightly came into the match as firm favourites to lift the silverware.
Could Robbie Savage, Julian Darby, John Thomas and co. earn a historic victory at the famous old national stadium in front of a crowd exceeding 46,000? Of course you know the outcome, but we’re sure you’ll enjoy the match anyway!
Our YouTube stream will begin at 4.30pm this afternoon on the following link: https://youtu.be/Cywxb3ulbWw
