Bolton Wanderers are delighted to be able to support Football Shirt Friday throughout the day, with the aim of helping to raise funds and awareness for Bowel Cancer Research via the Bobby Moore Fund.
A World Cup Winning hero with England in 1966, the great Bobby Moore passed away in 1993 and shortly after his death, his widow Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund as a restricted fund of Cancer Research UK to raise money for pioneering bowel cancer research.
Since Bobby’s death, the generosity of the Charity's supporters has enabled them to raise over £27 million and mortality rates for bowel cancer have fallen by more than 30%.
But sadly the disease still kills 45 people in the UK every day, showing there is a long way to go to before the goal of tackling bowel cancer is acheived.
On Football Shirt Friday we encourage our supporters to get into their favourite football shirts, send selfies to us via our social media channels and if possible donate to the Bobby Moore Fund. We will share as many of your selfies as we can via our channels.
Wear your colours with pride this Friday and to donate £5 to the Bobby Moore Fund, simply text SHIRT to 70180, or visit the website: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/get-involved/bobby-moore-fund
