Player shirts worn at the Bolton Wanderers versus Crewe Alexandra fixture in November have raised £4205 for The Royal British Legion via an online auction.
Wanderers fans from as far afield as Brazil, Australia and the United States placed their bids on the signed poppy shirts, worn by players including Oladapo Afolayan, Ricardo Almeida Santos and Amadou Bakayoko during their defeat of The Railwaymen at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Funds raised from the auction will go to supporting the work The Royal British Legion – the country’s largest Armed Forces charity. This year marks the centenary of the charity that for 100 years has cared for our active and retired service personnel and their families by supporting them in a variety of ways.
A huge thanks to all Wanderers fans who supported the auction and raised this fantastic amount.
