Ian Evatt has nothing but fond memories from his time with former club Barrow but will be making sure Bolton Wanderers go all out for the three points when the sides meet up in Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday at the University of Bolton Stadium.
The Wanderers manager spent two successful years with the Cumbrians and led them to the EFL for the first time in 48 years.
And while the former Blackpool defender is grateful for the opportunity at Holker Street, his focus is firmly centred on extending Wanderers’ winning streak.
“It’s a special game obviously because of what I achieved there last year and what we achieved as a group together,” he said.
"We had fantastic times and it helped me get this opportunity at Bolton Wanderers, so I’m ever so grateful to everybody there. The supporters were fantastic and the club, in general, was fantastic and I genuinely wish them all the best.
"I want them to do really well, Saturday aside.”
His Wanderers side go in search of a fifth successive league win – a run that has seen them climb to ninth in the table - but he is not taking things for granted, especially against a team that is determined to stay in the league.
He added: “We want to win the game. We want to start well, start fast and implement our style on them. I really hope that Barrow get the points needed to make them safe this season, 100% I do, but after Saturday.
"It’s a cliché but we want to win the game first and foremost and then after the game wish them all the best and hopefully they’ll go on the right run to get them the points that they require because they deserve that after what they’ve been through for so long.
"But for us, it’s about us continuing what we’re doing, continuing the process and what’s got us good results, no complacency, just go out there with the right attitude, the right mentality and the right quality and hopefully win the game.”
