Antoni Sarcevic came off the bench to put Tuesday night’s game against Scunthorpe United to bed and is looking forward to playing his part in Bolton Wanderers’ resurgence.
The midfielder had been on the sidelines for just under a month after suffering a groin injury during the game against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park in January.
He returned to action as a substitute in the victory against Southend last weekend after just one training session and had an immediate impact when his challenge saw the ball loop up into the air allowing Shaun Miller to latch onto the rebound off the bar and net the late winner.
Against the Iron he went one better, netting his sixth goal of the campaign five minutes after coming off the bench to seal Wanderers’ victory after Eoin Doyle had given Ian Evatt’s men a first-half lead.
The midfielder told bwfc.co.uk: “The lads have been different class over the last couple of weeks while I’ve been out.
“It’s been a positive atmosphere all round and a pleasure to watch. It’s also been a pleasure to be back.
“I’m getting minutes and my fitness back up since my injury. It’s always nice to help. I’ve come on in two games which have been a bit similar so it was good to kill the game off and get the three points.
“The lads are flying and I’m happy to play a part, making sure we keep these wins going.”
