The Bolton Wanderers in the Community Family Day on Sunday was a great success with fans enjoying the opportunity to return to the University of Bolton Stadium for the first time in over 18 months.
On a glorious day, the players came on to the pitch for an open training session to a rapturous applause by the Wanderers faithful.
Manager Ian Evatt welcomed our fans back and then coached the players through the session with supporters cheering every touch and goal scored.
Even Lofty, wearing his new Bolton Wanderers in the Community shirt, got involved and netted a couple of goals!
Towards the end of the session, the manager set his players the Cross Bar challenge with the fans getting behind every one of the lads.
Following the training on the pitch, attention turned towards the signing session held at Bolton Central and as the queue formed supporters were entertained by local musical and dance acts from the Bolton FM truck.
The signing session with the players was well received by everyone with opportunities for more photographs with Lofty and players.
Phil Mason CEO of BWitC said: “It was a great day and everyone really enjoyed the opportunity to return to the stadium. My thanks must go to Ian and all the team for taking the time in a busy pre-season schedule to put on the training session and allow fans to get a glimpse behind the scenes and for them to spend the time they did on the signing session.
“Thanks too to Bolton FM and all those that performed on the day to entertain the fans. This day is another example of our club building back and engaging with the fans, community and town.
“Thank you to all those who make donations to the work of Bolton Wanderers in the Community. We are One Club, One Community, One Town!”
