Amadou Bakayoko is the latest new recruit for Bolton Wanderers after the forward signed a two-year deal at the University of Bolton Stadium, the club is pleased to report.
The 25 year-old arrives in the North West having spent three years with Coventry City where he became a fans’ favourite for his hard-working and physical style.
Born in Sierra Leone, Bakayoko moved to the Netherlands as a youngster where he began his football career.
He came to the UK as a teenager and joined the Walsall Academy where he progressed to the Saddlers’ first team in 2013.
The 6ft 2in tall striker then had loan spells with Southport, AFC Telford United and Worcester City before joining Coventry City for an undisclosed fee in 2018.
Wanderers fans will be familiar with the frontman after he netted a goal for the Sky Blues in their 2-1 victory against the Whites at St Andrew’s in 2020.
Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Bakayoko said: “It’s a good feeling to be at this club and I’m very happy to have signed. Speaking to the gaffer, he told me about the ambition of the club and where they want to be at, and this is something that I want to be a part of.
”I am now looking to push on with this amazing club.”
Wanderers Manager Ian Evatt added: “Baka played in the Championship with Coventry City last season and is a tall centre forward who is quick, strong and will give us a different dynamic and option in the forward areas of the pitch.
“He’s a really hard worker in and out of possession - something that is a non-negotiable for me and our team - and we are really excited to have him.”
