Declan John believes the camaraderie and work-rate within the Bolton Wanderers changing room were some of the main reasons behind the club’s success last season.
The Welshman arrived on loan from Swansea City at the turn of the year and helped Wanderers to win 14 of the 19 games he featured in during his spell at the club.
His arrival during the January transfer window along, with several other astute acquisitions, brought about an upsurge in form which saw Wanderers ascend from 19th in the table to the third and final automatic promotion spot on the last day.
He said: “I think the changing room is absolutely superb. It’s got to be probably one of the best ones that I’ve been in for sure and the boys have been working really hard all season.”
The defender has relished his time at the University of Bolton Stadium which saw him play regular football once again after a period out of the first team in South Wales.
He added: “I have really enjoyed it here. It has been really good.
“At the start when I first came in it was a case of me playing games and getting back into the swing of doing that week in and week out.
“I did that and I think I have done well this season. I’ve enjoyed playing for the gaffer.”
