Bolton Wanderers is delighted to announce that Alex Baptiste has signed a new 12-month contract with the club.
The veteran defender formed a formidable partnership with fellow central defender Ricardo Almeida Santos last season and featured in 42 games as Wanderers bounced back to Sky Bet League One at the first time of asking.
He arrived at the University of Bolton Stadium in the summer for his second spell with the club, after spending two seasons with the Whites earlier in his career.
Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Baptiste said: “I am delighted to have got it done. The club is moving in the right direction and massive credit must go to the board and staff.
“Getting promoted with the club was one of my best achievements in the game.
“I’m looking forward to next season and there is only one way this club is moving and that is up.”
Manager Ian Evatt added: “For the second half of the season Baps was absolutely outstanding and the partnership he and Rico formed was a big part as to why we achieved what we did.
“He has massively earned this contract and is a big part of our team moving forwards."
