Matt Gilks has acknowledged that Bolton Wanderers will have to be on their guard when they face a ‘dangerous’ Crawley Town side at the weekend.
While the stakes are high for Wanderers with a victory assuring them of an automatic return to Sky Bet League One, John Yems’ side, who are 12th in the table, are safe from relegation and aren’t able to land a play-off spot.
And the Wanderers goalkeeper believes that this scenario will allow the West Sussex side an opportunity to play with a ’freedom’ that could make it a challenging afternoon for the visitors.
He said: “It is a danger because they play with a bit more freedom and there is nothing on it for them so they can try things they wouldn’t normally do.
"That is always a danger and I can’t see them rolling over because Bolton are coming to town, they are going to spoil our party, while we want to make one.”
The former Blackpool keeper, though, knows that Wanderers will approach the game in the correct manner as they endeavour to get the job done.
He added: “We have to pretend there are 10 games to go, prepare for Crawley with the right mindset. It is a game we need to win to get to where we want to be.”
