Ian Evatt is looking for poise and performance to start racking up the points again.
Wanderers take on Crewe Alexandra tonight (Friday) seeking a first league win since the end of September.
And after being unbeaten in their last two cup fixtures – and losing just one of their last four games – Evatt is looking to build on that platform against the division’s bottom club in a first league meeting between the two sides in 20 years.
“We need to start winning league games again,” said the Bolton boss.
“We had a rough run in October but it was only one month.
“I think we’ve kind of stopped the rot a little bit and we need to focus on getting three points.
“We’ve got some fixtures we deem winnable over the next month or so, although it’s never that simple.
“We need to go out and perform to our levels to make sure we win those games - but we’re looking forward to it.”
A year ago this week Wanderers lost to Crewe in the FA Cup after a tough start to the season which brought Evatt’s men just two wins in their opening 15 games.
Wanderers responded with a run which ended with promotion from League Two and the manager is seeking a similarly measured response to their current lean league run.
“We’ve been in worse positions than this in my tenure and had worse runs than this,” added Evatt, who will have summer loan sign Xavier Amaechi available for the first time this season following injury.
“We just need to keep calm, keep focused, keep composed and we know we will turn it around.
“We have to take care of business and make sure we perform to our levels.”
