Liam Edwards will make a welcome return from injury when he lines up for the Reserves today (Tuesday).
Edwards hasn’t made a first-team appearance for Wanderers since the end of January, 2020 after suffering a serious knee injury.
But the defender has worked hard to get back towards full fitness and after returning to training in recent weeks is included in the Whites’ squad for their Central League fixture at Preston North End.
Edwards, 25, is likely to be the most senior player on duty in a youthful reserve team line-up as Wanderers play just their second league game of the campaign.
Harry Brockbank (above) and Max Wilcox scored the goals to earn a 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley in the Whites’ opening game before the two sides then drew 3-3 in a Central League Cup tie.
North End have drawn one and lost one of their opening two league games, as well as securing a win and a draw in the Central League Cup.
Wanderers will be returning to their former training ground with the fixture at Euxton kicking off at 1pm.
Supporters are able to attend but there will be parking available on site or on the nursery access road opposite.
Entry to the training ground is permitted from 12noon via the entrance off Euxton Lane through the wooden gates which are located on the right-hand side before reaching the barrier.
Live up-dates from the game will be available via the club’s Twitter account @OfficialBWFC
