Wanderers will be at home to North-West neighbours Stockport County in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Ian Evatt’s men will host County at the University of Bolton Stadium over the weekend 5-8 November after being paired with the National League side in Sunday's draw.
Stockport booked their place in the first round with a 3-0 win over Northern Premier League side Stamford on Saturday.
The Hatters – who are currently 10th in the National League after winning four of their last five league games – will therefore make a first trip to Wanderers since meeting at Championship level in April, 2001.
The two clubs – who are just over 20 miles apart – last met in an FA Cup third-round tie in January, 2002, which Wanderers won 4-1 at Edgeley Park.
Confirmation of the date of the game and ticket details will be released in due course.
