When Jo McGuinness received her £100 cheque through the post she was ecstatic to win! We spoke to Jo and we couldn’t help but smile throughout the conversation she was delightful and a real bundle of fun.
Jo is a season ticket holder in the West Stand Lower and we asked her why she decided to join the Lifeline and she replied,
“Because Bolton Wanderers are everything in the world to me and I live, eat and breathe my beloved Wanderers.
My friends think I’m a little bit barmy but I don’t care I love everything about it, whether we win, lose or draw my scarf is in the air swishing around cheering on the team!”
Jo has recently been widowed which was a tough time for her and the family but she is very active and at 91 years young she is a great advert to us all. We asked her had she got anything in mind for her winnings,
“A Fit-Bit!” she replied. “I do Tai –chi and Zumba every week and love to walk so I need a new Fit-Bit watch to track everything for me.
I have recently had a couple of cheaper versions but I’m going to treat myself to a good one this time.”
Although she did admit sometimes things take her just a little bit longer these days she never gives up and continues to live life to the full every day.
We’re sure you’ll agree Jo is a great advertisement for ‘eternal youth’ but we asked her if she had any words that she would offer to someone considering joining the Lifeline or the Goldline and she said,
“Don’t hesitate at all – This is the Best Club in the world and it has the best staff too!
