Ricardo Almeida Santos has been cleared to face Charlton Athletic tonight (Tuesday) after Wanderers successfully overturned his red card from Saturday.
The Whites’ captain was dismissed for handball in the penalty area during the weekend’s 1-1 draw at Morecambe.
But Wanderers appealed the decision and the claim for wrongful has been upheld, meaning Santos is free to play against Charlton at the University of Bolton Stadium when Ian Evatt’s men will be looking to extend their five-match unbeaten run.
The FA confirmed in a statement: “Ricardo Santos will be available for Bolton Wanderers FC’s next game.
“The defender was sent off during their EFL League One game on Saturday against Morecambe FC but an independent Regulatory Commission upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal during a subsequent hearing.”
