Our most recent winner of the Bolton Wanderers Lifeline weekly draw, Andrew Marland, was scrolling through Twitter last Friday when the Lifeline results popped up - and his name was at the top!
Andrew was surprised to see his name next to the £2000 winning prize and was thrilled to have this confirmed by a phone call from the Lotteries team.
We asked Andy how long he had been a supporter of the BWDA and what made him join he replied: “I have been supporting the Lotteries about twenty years - give or take a year or two. We were in the Premier League when I started!”
Talking about the winnings and how he is going to treat himself and he said: “It was fantastic to find out I’d won. I won £100 a couple of years back, but it felt nice to have won the big prize after so long! Renewing my season ticket in the east stand lower will be the first thing I’m going to do and I’ll treat my daughter to a Nintendo switch as she’s being nagging me for one for ages”.
Finally we asked Andy if he had any words of encouragement for those supporters who aren’t members of the weekly fundraisers to which he replied: “Have a go! We as supporters see our ticket money go towards the higher profile stuff on the field, but the weekly fundraising draws ensure that that the equally important off the field stuff gets paid for as well - plus you might win something!”
Be like Andy; back the weekly fundraisers and join today.
