Wanderers play their final game of 2022 when they go to Lincoln City tonight (Friday).
Ian Evatt’s men will be looking to become the first side to win a league game at the LNER Stadium this season with a fourth away success of the campaign to stay camped in a highly competitive top-six.
The Whites will also be playing for silverware with the John Reames Memorial Trophy being awarded to the winners.
The trophy is named after the longest-serving chairman in Lincoln's history - who also managed the club between 1998 and 2000 - and is awarded annually at one of Lincoln's home festive fixtures.
Manager quotes:
Ian Evatt: “They’re unbeaten at home so we know it’s going to be a tough test.
“It’s always a big occasion when we turn up. Our away fans are fantastic and create a brilliant atmosphere.
“In turn with that comes huge expectancy from us and the opposition tend to raise their game when they’re facing our crowd and our team.
“We need to make sure we embrace that and perform to our levels and try and get the three points.
“It will be an important three points to make up for that draw on Tuesday.”
Lincoln manager Mark Kennedy: “I want to stay balanced on what I have seen so far this season, which tends to be evidence of what you are doing or where you are going.
“One game will not define us. We are not happy with the performance (at Burton on Boxing Day) but there will be a reaction.
“We are a close group and I am already looking forward to Friday because there needs to be a reaction and there will be a reaction. I think our players have proven that every time this year.
“I look at Bolton’s last few results at home, they have scored lots of goals. But we’ve proven ourselves on many occasions this year and we are capable of winning these games.”
Team news:
Wanderers could have defenders Ricardo Almeida Santos and Gethin Jones back in the squad following illness and injury, respectively.
Skipper Santos has missed the last four league games, while vice-captain Jones has been absent for two.
The Whites picked up no fresh knocks in their mid-week draw with Derby.
Lincoln expect to have midfielder Danny Mandroiu back after he missed their Boxing Day defeat to Burton.
Form guide:
Fifth-placed Wanderers have lost just once in eight games following Tuesday’s 0-0 home draw with Derby County.
That sole defeat came at Shrewsbury earlier this month following an unbeaten three-match run away from home.
Lincoln boast the only unbeaten home record in League One.
The Red Imps have drawn eight and won two of their league games at the LNER Stadium.
Mark Kennedy’s side have won one of their last seven league games to sit 16th in the table after Thursday night's fixtures and lost 3-0 at Burton on Boxing Day following an EFL Cup exit at Southampton the week before Christmas.
