Adam Senior has joined neighbours Chorley on loan for the rest of the season to aid their promotion push.
Wanderers have allowed the defender to link up with the National League North side to further his first-team experience.
And the 20-year-old could make a debut in Chorley’s local derby at home to potential promotion rivals AFC Fylde tonight (Tuesday).
Senior – who scored the winner for Wanderers in a pre-season friendly against the Magpies in July – played in the same division as Chorley on loan at York City earlier this season, as well as spending time with Ashton United.
And Wanderers’ boss Ian Evatt believes the switch to Victory Park will be another beneficial move for Senior, who started two League One games for the Whites either side of Christmas.
“It’s a local club we know well with a manager I know well and we can keep a close eye on him,” said Evatt, whose defensive options have been increased with the loan-signing of Adam Fossey and Gethin Jones’ return from injury during January.
“Adam needs to continue his development by playing regular first-team football and it’s a good move for all parties.”
Chorley are currently fifth in National League North under boss Jamie Vermiglio.
