The Youth team will be chasing the chance of silverware when they meet Preston North End’s U19s in the northern final of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup.
After successfully coming through the group stage with a 100 per cent record, Wanderers progressed to the last four of the competition by beating Accrington Stanley - their conquerors in the FA Youth Cup - and then holding their nerve to secure a penalty shoot-out win over Blackpool.
And they now go to North End on Saturday morning to face Preston at their Springfields academy training ground (KO 10.30am).
Spectators are welcome and the winners will go on to face the southern group victors Luton Town in the national final of the competition in May.
Preston – who beat Burton Albion 2-1 in their semi-final to set up the clash with Wanderers – currently top the Youth Alliance North-West Division, with Wanderers sixth in the table.
The sides drew 1-1 in the league earlier this season.
