Young striker Conor Carty has joined Oldham Athletic on a month’s loan.
Carty, who joined the Whites’ B Team squad in the summer after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers, links up with the Latics ahead of their National League fixture at home to Yeovil Town on Saturday.
The 20-year-old Irishman has been a regular starter for the B Team this season and scored on his senior debut for Wanderers last month.
Carty came off the bench to fire home a spectacular equaliser in a 2-2 Papa Johns Trophy draw at Tranmere Rovers and now gets the chance to experience further first-team football at Boundary Park.
David Unsworth’s side is currently 18th in the National League - but unbeaten in their last four games in league and cup - following Oldham's relegation from the EFL last season.
Carty becomes the latest member of Matt Craddock's squad to be loaned out for the opportunity of competitive senior football to continue their development.
Midfielder Arran Pettifer is currently with Atherton Collieries, while forward Connor Stanley this week joined the Colls' Northern Premier League rivals Bamber Bridge, scoring their winner on his debut on Tuesday night.
