Wanderers’ B Team returns to Central League action with a trip up the M61 to face Preston North End’s Reserves on Tuesday afternoon (KO 1pm).
The third-placed Whites will be looking for a fourth league win of the campaign in their first game in the competition since losing to leaders Blackpool last month.
Matt Craddock’s side have since drawn with an experienced Rochdale reserve side in the Central League Cup and played a bounce game against more EFL opposition in Doncaster Rovers a fortnight ago.
Wanderers – who currently have several young players out on loan – drew 2-2 with North End at the start of November when Finlay Lockett and youth teamer Danny Jones were on target.
That was one of six draws so far for unbeaten North End, who have shared the points in all six of their Central League fixtures.
Tuesday’s game will be played at Preston’s Springfields Academy Training Ground in Preston (PR2 1XR) and will be open to spectators from 12 noon.
Spectators are asked to park at the rear of the Pig and Whistle restaurant which is located within a five-minute walk of the training ground at 849 Blackpool Road, Lea, PR2 1QS.
