Unite For Access

Disability charity Level Playing Field (LPF) is celebrating its annual campaign, ‘Unite for Access’.

The campaign will run from Saturday 25 February to Sunday 12 March and aims to showcase the good work being done by clubs to improve accessibility and inclusion across in sport.

Bolton Wanderers fully supports the campaign and are getting involved by helping disabled supporters learn about Level Playing Field (LPF) and understand what the charity does, what its aims are to improve accessibility and inclusion, and how they can assist disabled fans.

At Saturday’s fixture against Port Vale, LPF Trustee Steve Evans will be at the University of Bolton Stadium, catching up with a number of our disabled fans including Morgan Parry who is an LPF Ambassador.

In addition, a campaign video will be released next week focussing on disabled supporters from three clubs in the EFL, including Bolton Wanderers’ fan Jack Storey and his family.

In recent months there has been a full LFP audit of our club and the very detailed report gives us a great guide into how we can continually improve facilities for our disabled supporters.

To take this work forward, a working party has been formed bringing together members of the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust, Bolton Wanderers Disabled Supporters’ Association, Bolton Wanderers in the Community, disabled fans and key Bolton Wanderers staff members.

A major focus will be on creating a full Changing Places facility designed to be completely accessible and provide sufficient space and equipment for people who are not able to use the toilet independently. The plan is for this facility to be available throughout the week to the public, as well as a match day.

Over the coming months, further improvements are planned for the accessible toilets, stadium loop system, Quiet Room and design changes to existing areas to create better accessibility.

You can support this work by adding a donation to the cause when purchasing your season ticket for the 2023/24 campaign.

We are looking to work together as One Club, One Community, One Town and unite for access to support the great work of Level Playing Field.
