Former Wanderers stars John McGinlay and Fabrice Muamba will be at the University of Bolton Stadium on Friday as part of It’s Mental Live 2023 - the ultimate well-being experience.
Taking place in the Premier Suite at the University of Bolton Stadium from 9am - 7pm on Friday 3rd February, the one-day event aims to showcase how to manage mental and physical health with contributions from inspirational figures, organisations and experts in the mental health space.
The event will encompass ten wellbeing zones that attendees can visit, focussing on different elements of mental health including an Activity Zone, Nutrition Zone, Physical Health Zone, Sports Zone, Mindful Zone, Financial Wellbeing Zone and Workplace Wellbeing Zone.
And as the club's official charity, Bolton Wanderers in the Community, is a partner of It’s Mental Live, we have 500 complimentary tickets to give away (general sale tickets are £25).
The first 500 people to register will receive a free ticket to the event. Register for your complimentary e-ticket here.
Former footballers including Clarke Carlisle and Steven Reid will also be in attendance, alongside other inspirational figures from across the region including Manchester Arena bomb survivor and Pride of Britain winner, Martin Hibbert, and Zee Jogi - the only British Muslim woman to achieve two Guinness World Records after climbing both Kilimanjaro and Mount Everest.
Founder Stephen Robinson said: “The reality is that in the UK there’s a huge mental health gap and I saw the opportunity for technology to increase engagement in the early stages of nental health decline and prevent people from dropping into severe depression and even crisis. This is what we’re trying to achieve with It’s Mental Live.
“The idea of the Ultimate Wellbeing Experience is to bring people together so we can better understand the state of mental health in the UK and help educate them that prevention is better than cure.”
Some of the region’s largest organisations will also be represented at the event and will share how they’ve tackled mental health challenges in recent times and the positive impact these interventions have had on their workforces.
There will be over 30 holistic treatments and therapies available including hypnotherapy, acupuncture, regression therapy, reflexology, body massages, reiki healing, energy and frequency treatments, EFT Tapping and many more.
Head of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Phil Mason, said: “Our Chairman Sharon Brittan is a mental health and well-being advocate and we are delighted to be hosting such an important event for our club, community and town.
“Stephen’s story is inspiring and his dedication to helping others is to be admired.
“We are all looking forward to It’s Mental Live and hope as many people as possible visit to benefit from the positive interactions.”
